Daʿwah (Arabic: دعوة, Arabic: [ˈdaʕwah], "invitation" is the act of proselytizing people to Islam. The plural is daʿwāt (دَعْوات) or daʿawāt (دَعَوات). A preacher who engage in dawah is known as a da'i.
