Kabbalah or Qabalah ( kə-BAH-lə, KAB-ə-lə; Hebrew: קַבָּלָה‎, romanized: Qabbālā, pronounced [kabaˈla] ; lit. 'act of receiving, acceptation') is an esoteric method, discipline, and school of thought in Jewish mysticism.
